Job summary

Worldline is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join the High Availability Frontoffice Platform team in Switzerland. You will work with DBAs, Cloud Engineers and SREs to keep 70+ applications running in a microservices setup, across infrastructure and platforms.

You will drive automation, support two infrastructures, and contribute to the European cloud migration. You will play a key role in incident response, monitoring, and collaboration with internal and external partners, including

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an SRE or DevOps role supporting production systems
• Strong knowledge of RHEL/Linux and containerisation (Docker)
• Experience with cloud/orchestrations platforms
• Automation and config management with Ansible and Terraform
• CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI; Helm for deployments
• Experience with highly available environments, incident response and performance optimisation
• Observability tooling experience; OpenSearch and Grafana/Prometheus
• Security best practices and PCI-DSS awareness is a plus
• Fluent in English; French/German is an asset

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable operation of the HA Platform and 70+ applications in a microservices architecture
• Manage two infrastructures with GitLab CI deployments; containerised components on RHEL with Docker/Ansible and a cloud-native OpenShift stack
• Contribute to architectural decisions and drive automation for consistency, availability and compliance
• Support cloud migration of European infrastructure to Worldline private cloud
• Act as operations liaison with business, development and external partners; lead service improvements
• Participate in remunerated on-call duties (3rd level support) for end-to-end operational continuity

The opportunity

Join our High Availability (HA) Frontoffice Platform team as a Site Reliability Engineer, where you'll work alongside 7 dedicated professionals including DBAs, Cloud Engineers and SREs, working on exciting projects including our major cloud migration.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

• Ensuring the reliable operation of the HA Platform and its 70+ applications running in a microservices-based architecture, across all platform layers including infrastructure, services and applications
• Managing two distinct underlying infrastructures, both leveraging GitLab CI for automated deployments: one based on containerised application components running on redundant RHEL nodes with Docker and Ansible, and one based on a cloud-native stack leveraging OpenShift (Kubernetes), Terraform and Helm
• Contributing to architectural design decisions and changes whilst driving automation across the platform to ensure consistency, availability and compliance
• Contributing to the cloud migration of the European infrastructure, targeting the Worldline private cloud
• Acting as the voice of operations when interacting with business, development teams and infrastructure providers, proposing and leading service, application and infrastructure improvements
• Participating in remunerated on-call duties (3rd level support) throughout the year, ensuring end-to-end operational continuity of both the database infrastructures and the applications they support

Who Are We Looking For

• At least 5 years' hands-on experience in an SRE or DevOps role, supporting production systems and contributing to complex technical projects
• Strong knowledge of RHEL/Linux, microservices and containerisation (e.g. Docker), with experience using cloud and container orchestration platforms
• Practical experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Terraform), application deployment with Helm, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI
• Experience managing highly available production environments, including incident response, monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
• Experience with observability tools, and willingness to help maintain and develop our logging service based on OpenSearch and Grafana/Prometheus
• Awareness of security best practices and compliance standards; PCI-DSS knowledge is a plus
• Able to work independently, document work clearly and collaborate effectively with technical teams and external partners, including under pressure
• Fluent in English; French and/or German is an asset
