Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Scientist/Senior Scientist to join an R&D team in the Basel area. The role focuses on skin actives, vitamins and applied skin biology, combining experimental research with translational science and claim substantiation.

The candidate will design studies, lead projects, and coordinate in-vitro and in-vivo efficacy work, translating findings into product applications and substantiation data for regional and global teams.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in biology/biochemistry/biotechnology or related Life Sciences.
• Hands-on experience with experimental research.
• Experience designing and analysing in-vitro studies.
• Background in skin biology/dermatology is desirable.
• Translational science or claim substantiation experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and execute scientific studies supporting skin actives and vitamins.
• Lead R&D projects within the applied biology team.

• Design, plan and execute scientific studies supporting skin actives and vitamins
• Lead R&D projects within the applied biology team
• Design and coordinate in-vitro studies and in-vivo efficacy studies
• Generate scientific data packages to support product and efficacy claims
• Contribute to customised clinical studies and claim substantiation activities
• Translate scientific findings into meaningful product applications
• Prepare scientific reports, publications and presentations
• Collaborate across R&D, Marketing, Sales and other business functions
• Provide scientific support and answer technical product-related questions for regional and global teams

Your profile

• Master's degree or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related Life Sciences field
• Strong background in biological sciences and hands-on experimental research
• Experience designing, conducting and analysing in-vitro studies
• Background in skin biology, dermatological science or related research is highly desirable
• Experience with translational science, efficacy studies or claim substantiation is an advantage
• Proactive, hands-on and business-oriented approach
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
