ABB in Quartino, Switzerland invites an experienced R&D Senior Engineer to validate and customize OEM 1-phase and 3-phase low-voltage UPS units, including batteries and accessories. You will manage test partners and ensure compliance with IEC/UL standards, while collaborating with global teams on new UPS technologies.

Reporting to the R&D Hardware Chapter Lead, you will contribute to product development, drive root-cause analyses, and support engineering change processes in a dynamic hybrid work

Qualifikationen

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with power electronic systems is required.
• Experience using laboratory measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of IEC and UL standards for product compliance.
• Experience working with external laboratories and certification bodies.
• Knowledge of ECNs, BOMs, and documentation systems.
• Experience with RCA and failure investigations is preferred.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology is a plus.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Aufgaben

• Lead technical validation and customization of OEM 1ph and 3ph low voltage UPS, batteries and accessories.
• Coordinate test programs with external labs (IEC/UL compliance testing).
• Manage technical specs and support business case development for product development.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions from qualification testing and customer sites.
• Collaborate with Swiss research center and ABB stakeholders on new UPS technologies.
