ABB in Quartino, Switzerland, seeks an R&D Engineer to validate and customize OEM 1ph and 3ph low-voltage UPS systems and accessories for mission-critical power applications. You will lead technical validation, coordinate test partners (IEC/UL) to demonstrate compliance, manage product specifications, and support business cases for development.

You will drive RCA and corrective actions during qualification testing and at customer sites.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience with power electronic systems.
• Experience using lab measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of IEC and UL standards.
• Experience with external laboratories and certification bodies.
• Knowledge of ECNs, BOMs, and documentation systems.
• Experience with RCA and failure investigations.
• Fluent in English.

Aufgaben

• Lead validation and customization of OEM 1ph and 3ph low voltage UPS, batteries and accessories.
• Manage test partners (IEC/UL, etc.) to scope and plan test programs for IEC/UL compliance.
• Manage technical specifications and support business case for product development.
• Drive RCA and corrective actions during qualification testing and at customer sites.
• Collaborate with Swiss research center and ABB stakeholders to identify new UPS technologies.
