Sécheron SA in Geneva seeks a Senior R&D Engineer to advance high‑speed switching devices for medium/low voltage power electronics. You will contribute across the product lifecycle from design to validation, interfacing with mechanical and electrical teams while supporting patent filings.

Focus on robust simulations (MATLAB/Simulink, COMSOL) and 3D CAD (SolidWorks). You will mentor engineers and shape innovation roadmaps in line with IEC/IEEE standards. English fluency required; French preferred.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years in R&D for low/medium voltage electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of railway protection systems and DC microgrids.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.
• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong electro-mechanical and magnetic system understanding.

Aufgaben

• Contribute to R&D projects on high-speed circuit breakers and switching technologies.
• Design and simulate electrical switching systems using MATLAB/Simulink and COMSOL.
• Define and execute test plans for prototypes including dielectric, thermal, and mechanical validation.
• Interface with mechanical, electrical, and electronics engineers across teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize material processing and industrialization.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical strategy and roadmaps.
• Contribute to patent filings, documentation, and IEC/IEEE standards compliance.
• Develop and validate electronic control boards for switching and protection systems.
