Sécheron Hasler Group in Geneva seeks a Power Electronics R&D Engineer to join our Electrical Safety Solutions unit. You will develop high‑power electronics concepts, perform simulations, and support hardware development and validation of fast-switching circuit breakers and related technologies.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics and switching technologies.
• Experience with power semiconductor devices (IGBT, GTO, MOSFET, SiC).
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, LTspice or equivalents.
• Knowledge of power electronics lab testing and measurement techniques.
• Good understanding of thermal, electrical, and system-level design.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary R&D teams.

• Support development and improvement of existing HSCB and fast DC protection

• Support the development and maintenance of HSCB electronic hardware, software, Eco-Drive, and coil controller solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics and power semiconductor switching technologies.
• Experience with power semiconductor devices, including IGBT, GTO, MOSFET, and SiC technologies.
• Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, LTspice, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of power electronics laboratory testing and measurement techniques.
• Good understanding of thermal, electrical, and system-level design considerations.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary R&D teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in DC protection systems or circuit breaker technologies.
• Experience in railway, industrial power systems, renewable energy, e-mobility, or DC microgrid applications.
• Familiarity with EMC, insulation coordination, and safety requirements.
• Experience with control algorithms and embedded control systems.
• Knowledge of reliability analysis and design-for-manufacturing principles.
