Job summary

STAAR Surgical Switzerland is expanding with a new Nidau site and seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to work across the Quality Team, supporting production, maintenance, calibration, and operations. You will lead equipment qualifications, validations, and technical studies, and act as the quality representative in investigations and audits.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree and several years in quality engineering, with strong English and IT skills, and be adaptable to fast-changing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, mechanical, life sciences or industrial engineering.
• Two years minimum experience in quality engineering; Senior: five years or a higher degree with three years.
• Excellent English skills, written and spoken; other languages are an asset.
• Proficient IT skills (MS Office, eQMS).
• Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.

(Senior) Quality Engineer 100%

Job Description

In this position, you will work across multiple tasks within our growing Quality Team.

• Support site production, operations, maintenance, calibration and quality teams
• Prepare, execute, review and lead equipment qualifications and validations, technical studies, test method validations and other studies/reports
• Initiate and lead change assessments and impact assessments.
• Manage equipment lifecycle requirements and impact assessments
• Serve as the quality representative during product or process investigation and during external and internal audits

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, mechanical, life sciences or industrial engineering
• Minimum two years’ experience or advanced degree with three years of experience in quality engineering, in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries. For Senior Position, minimum five years’ experience or advanced degree with three years of experience.
• Excellent English skills, both spoken and written. All other languages are an asset
• Proficient IT Skills (e.g. MS Office, eQMS, etc.)
• Very flexible and adaptable to change with ability to work under pressure
• Responsible, team oriented and well-organized personality
• Knowledge of the Software Kneat is a plus
• Knowledge of the Kaye Validator System is a plus
