Job summary

Techup Systems in Zurich is seeking an experienced Senior Test Manager to lead the QA strategy for a major legacy-to-Java migration project spanning 80+ product teams. You will partner with a Senior Test Engineer to shape the long-term QA and automation vision and guide automation adoption.

You will oversee the automation framework, coordinate distributed QA teams across Zurich, Poland, and India, and champion regulatory-compliant QA practices throughout the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building/managing test automation and leading teams
• Experience with legacy-to-modern migrations and complex architectures
• Understanding of regulatory audit requirements in financial services or regulated industries
• Ability to read Python code to assess automation frameworks and guide engineers
• Experience managing distributed QA teams across multiple regions
• Proven track record in large-scale transformation programmes
• Proficiency with test management tools, especially Jira/Xray
• Proven ability to align QA activity with product and project stakeholders
• Experience validating outputs from parallel legacy and modern systems
• Ability to advocate for automation investments and documentation improvements

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the overall test strategy for the legacy-to-modern migration programme
• Partner with the Senior Test Engineer to build long-term QA and test automation vision
• Oversee the automation framework and test engineers, reviewing architecture and maintainability
• Provide actionable feedback to test engineers on technical approaches
• Decide which components should be automated versus tested manually
• Coordinate testing across PMs, program managers, and tech leads
• Push for investments in automation and documentation
• Define entry/exit criteria and QA artefacts across SDLC stages
• Clarify QA responsibilities for developers and product owners
• Produce audit-ready QA evidence for regulators
• Collaborate with 80+ product teams to implement unified QA standards
• Coordinate testing across Zurich, Poland, and India
• Ensure correct output comparison during cutover
• Absorb complex domain knowledge from business experts
