Job summary

Geistlich Group in Switzerland is seeking a Senior Project Manager Medical Devices to lead complex development programs from concept through design transfer to market readiness. You will coordinate across R&D, Process Development, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Medical Affairs, and Marketing to bring innovative ideas into successful products.

This role offers ownership and high visibility in an international setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams in regulated industries.
• 5+ years of project management in Medical Devices or Life Sciences.
• Hands-on experience with Design Controls from user needs through design transfer.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 13485, 14971, FDA and/or EU MDR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex medical device development and line extension projects from concept to market readiness.
• Own timelines, budgets, resources, risks, deliverables, and stakeholder alignment with project reporting.
• Lead cross-functional teams, drive decisions and project governance.
• Ensure compliance with Design Controls and applicable quality / regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate design planning, V&V, risk management, manufacturing transfer and scale-up.
• Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and critical issues.

From early concept through design transfer and market readiness, you will bring together experts across R&D, Process Development, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Medical Affairs, and Marketing to turn innovative ideas into successful products.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead complex medical device development and line extension projects from concept through market readiness
• Own timelines, budgets, resources, risks, deliverables, stakeholder alignment and project reporting
• Lead cross-functional teams,drive decisions and project governance
• Ensure compliance with Design Controls and applicable quality / regulatory requirements
• Coordinate design planning, , V&V, risk management, manufacturing transfer and scale up
• Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and critical issues

Your Profile

• Degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams, programs, or complex initiatives in regulated industries
• 5+ years of project management experience in Medical Devices, Life Sciences, IVD or other highly regulated industries
• Hands-on experience with Design Controls from user needs through design transfer
• Strong knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, FDA and/or EU MDR requirements
• Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead without direct authority
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented approach
• Fluent in German and English
• Experience in biomaterials, regenerative medicine, dental solutions, orthopedics, wound care, diagnostics, biologics, or related healthcare sectors is an advantage
