The Process Engineer for Pulses is part of the Business Unit (BU) Special Grains and Pulses, reporting directly to the Head of the Business Segment Pulses. He/she supports the full segments M2M and C2C processes with technological expertise, advising on new technology developments, elaborating concepts for customer inquiries, releasing process diagrams, and leading startups. He/she supports the global sales and technology organization in seeking technological and sales advice for the segment's products and services.
Here's where you'll excel
- As a Senior Process Engineer, support sales, quotations, and project execution in technological matters.
- Consult customers on technology, spare and wear parts, retrofit packages, service contracts, and eBusiness solutions; provide technological training to customer personnel.
- Create flowsheets for pulses and protein applications, including all relevant details up to control and approval.
- Establish solutions for customers considering standard processes, ongoing research, and development.
- Perform plant start-ups of complex solutions, including documentation and control system acceptance procedures.
- Coordinate and support trials in Application Centers.
- Develop and roll out standards globally, supporting application, training, and new developments (M2M) with a complete solution approach, technological know-how, and customer insights.
Skills you'll need
- Apprenticeship as a Miller; preferred background with SMS or DMSB, completed diploma in Feed Milling Technology (SFT), or 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced knowledge in flour/feed/specialty milling process technology; experience beyond milling (e.g., extrusion) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English; German is desired; additional languages are a plus.
- Systematic problem-solving skills; highly independent, self-motivated, and engaged.
- Strong communication, consulting, and time management skills; ability to manage conflicts and work in diverse, multicultural teams.
- Customer-oriented with a professional appearance; previous customer-facing experience is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel internationally (20%-50%).
