Aufgaben

• Monitor the project portfolio, KPIs, milestones, dependencies, risks and progress of activities.
• Oversee budget, forecast, cost tracking and variance analysis, promoting corrective actions.
• Build and maintain clear, reliable and decision-oriented managerial reporting.
• Support steering committees and governance moments, ensuring timely follow-up of decisions, owners and deadlines.
• Identify critical issues, delays and bottlenecks and manage escalation and priorities with authority.
• Coordinate ICT, business and internal stakeholders in a complex multi-project environment.
• Contribute to standardisation and improvement of PMO processes and portfolio governance practices.

For a Swiss financial institution engaged in a journey of organisational and technological transformation, we are looking for a Senior PMO who combines authority, rigorous governance and strong operational capability. The role offers high visibility with senior management and the opportunity to have a concrete impact on the quality of execution, reporting and the governance of a complex ICT portfolio.

The Mission

The role aims to structure portfolio management, make priorities, dependencies, progress and critical issues transparent, and ensure that decisions, responsibilities and actions are carried through to completion. We are looking for a pragmatic person who can engage in constructive dialogue with senior stakeholders and, when necessary, dive directly into operational details.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor the project portfolio, KPIs, milestones, dependencies, risks and progress of activities.
• Oversee budget, forecast, cost tracking and variance analysis, promptly promoting corrective actions.
• Build and maintain clear, reliable and decision-oriented managerial reporting.
• Support steering committees and governance moments, ensuring timely follow-up of decisions, owners and deadlines.
• Identify critical issues, delays and bottlenecks and manage escalation and priorities with authority. Coordinate ICT, business and internal stakeholders in a complex multi-project environment.
• Contribute to the standardisation and improvement of PMO processes and portfolio governance practices.
• Support change management by fostering execution discipline, accountability and the adoption of new ways of working.

Operational Focus and Tools

The operational component is central. We are not looking for a figure limited to methodological supervision: the ideal candidate works directly with the tools, verifies data quality and builds effective control mechanisms.

Microsoft Project, Jira and other PM tools: recent and hands-on experience for planning, baseline, milestones, dependencies, critical path and progress monitoring.

Microsoft Excel and Office suite: advanced use for KPIs, reporting, budget and forecast, variance analysis and control tools.

Ability to build, maintain and improve operational and managerial reports and dashboards directly.

Ideal Profile

Senior experience in PMO, Portfolio Management, Programme Governance or ICT Governance roles in complex organisations.

Proven experience in managing multi-project portfolios, competing priorities and senior stakeholders.

Authoritative, pragmatic personality capable of constructive challenge even in complex situations.

Strong execution orientation and ability to turn decisions into actions, responsibilities and measurable results.

Concrete experience with budget, forecast, project/portfolio controlling and variance analysis.

Experience In Banking Or Financial Services Is Strongly Preferred.

PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certifications are a plus.

Language Skills

• Italian: native level.
• English: C1 level.
• German and/or French: a plus.

Ticino, partially in SmartWorking from Switzerland

you must be in possession of a work permit valid for Swiss territory or have the nationality of a European nation.
