Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner, seeks a Senior Full Stack PHP Developer in Europe to lead the architecture of a product catalogue and quoting platform. You will own data models, ingestion pipelines, scraping systems, and integrated REST APIs while collaborating with data specialists and frontend teams.

You will work remotely within Europe, maintain regular overlap with the team in Paris hours, and drive reliability, performance, and long-term product direction in a hands-on role.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Expert-level, hands-on proficiency with PHP 8 and Symfony.
• Proven experience building or maintaining product information management (PIM) systems, product catalogue platforms, or comparable product data solutions.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale data ingestion pipelines, ideally processing at least one million records.
• Strong data modelling skills and extensive experience with PostgreSQL and Doctrine.
• Practical experience with asynchronous processing, message queues, and caching technologies such as Redis.
• Proven ability to build reliable web crawling and scraping systems.
• Strong experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with production monitoring, logging, error tracking, troubleshooting, and application performance optimization.
• Understanding of data quality challenges, including normalization, validation, deduplication, and consistency across multiple sources.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, independent technical judgment, and a clear sense of ownership and accountability.
• Excellent communication skills, fluent English, and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and development of the product catalogue and quoting platform.
• Design robust data models for products, variants, specifications, pricing, configurable options, accessories, and discounts.
• Develop and maintain the PHP 8 and Symfony backend, including REST APIs, integrations, and supporting services.
• Build data ingestion pipelines ingesting, normalizing, validating, deduplicating, and enriching large product datasets.
• Develop web crawling and scraping systems to gather product data and descriptions.
• Implement imports, incremental updates, error recovery, and ongoing maintenance workflows.
• Build asynchronous processing workflows with Symfony Messenger and queues; optimize with caching (Redis).
• Establish monitoring, logging, metrics, error tracking, and alerting for production reliability.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize data processing and application efficiency.
• Develop quoting capabilities for projects, line items, pricing, and customer-ready quotes.
• Collaborate on frontend integration using React and modern JavaScript with backend APIs.
• Define development standards, automated testing, and architectural patterns for long-term maintainability.
• Work with product data specialists translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Take ownership from design to deployment and evaluate AI coding tools to boost productivity.
