Job summary

The World Economic Forum in Geneva is seeking a Senior Associate, Communications to coordinate and deliver strategic communications for the Ocean Agenda. You will craft messaging, content and campaigns that highlight ACT Ocean and Friends of Ocean Action, collaborating with multiple teams and external partners to maximize impact.

You will translate complex ocean policy into clear communications, produce blogs, press materials and digital content, and help manage internal visibility of the ocean

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent professional experience in communications, journalism, marketing, international relations, environmental studies or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic communications initiatives.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical or policy topics into engaging communications for diverse audiences.
• Experience producing articles, blogs, presentations, executive briefing materials and digital content.
• Knowledge of ocean issues is highly desirable, with sustainability or policy experience a strong advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in an additional language is an asset.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, social media platforms and digital tools; Salesforce experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement agreed communications plans and activities for the Ocean Agenda, coordinating with leadership and internal teams.
• Support project leads with messaging, ensuring accuracy and consistency across key communications assets.
• Coordinate with contributors and external partners to deliver announcements and content.
• Plan and execute communications for events, milestones and report launches.
• Develop messaging, talking points and digital content for ACT Ocean initiatives and campaigns.
• Draft blogs, articles, and media releases for priority ocean news.
• Create simple design collateral such as social media tiles.
• Manage internal communications to raise visibility of ocean work within the Forum.
