Role Overview
Ready to move beyond “keep-the-lights-on” and shape the future of a global bank’s digital workplace? As a Senior Microsoft SharePoint Engineer / Developer, you won’t just support systems; you’ll redefine them, own and deliver the technical implementation of intranet and collaboration use cases across Microsoft SharePoint and Atlassian Confluence.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the technical implementation of intranet and collaboration use cases across Microsoft SharePoint and Atlassian Confluence, from requirements to production operations.
- Play a leading engineering role in the migration from on‑prem Atlassian Data Center intranet content to SharePoint platform evolution.
- Design, build, and maintain modern SharePoint Online solutions (sites, information architecture, permissions, content models, search, and governance) with a strong focus on developer‑grade extensibility.
- Build and evolve intranet features and integrations (e.g., navigation, publishing patterns, content rollups, automation, and platform‑wide components) that scale to a firm‑wide audience.
- Develop and maintain integrations and migration tooling between Confluence and SharePoint (content move, metadata mapping, link integrity, redirects, and quality checks) to enable a controlled, low‑risk transition.
- Act as a senior hands‑on engineer: lead code reviews, establish engineering standards, improve CI/CD and operational readiness, and mentor colleagues working on the intranet and platform ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a completed software engineering apprenticeship.
- At least 5 years of hands‑on professional experience as senior Microsoft SharePoint Engineer / Developer with a strong delivery track record in enterprise platforms and high‑visibility web systems such as intranets.
- Deep, current expertise in Microsoft SharePoint (development and administration) including modern SharePoint patterns and operating models in a regulated environment.
- Strong experience building web solutions (TypeScript/JavaScript, modern frontend, APIs) and implementing secure, maintainable backend services when needed.
- Solid understanding of identity, permissions, and governance concepts, comfortable designing and operating access models for bank‑wide information platforms.
- Experience with migrations (platform or content), including planning, tooling, validation, stakeholder communication, and incremental rollout strategies.
- A pragmatic, communicative team player who can own decisions, handle ambiguity, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders, security, and IT operations.
- Fluent in English, with basic German (A2 level) to read documentation and navigate our bilingual intranet application and content.
