Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, delivery and operation of mission-critical mechanical and cooling infrastructure in the Switzerland region, with a focus on data centre environments.

You will develop engineering standards, support performance modelling, and ensure robust governance across projects in multiple European markets. The role includes mentoring teams, managing risk, and driving continuous improvement in resilience and efficiency.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive experience with mission-critical mechanical and cooling infrastructure, ideally in data centres.
• Experience reviewing and supporting design of mission-critical mechanical systems.
• Advanced knowledge of cooling systems and critical infrastructure in high-availability facilities.
• Strong understanding of resilience and asset lifecycle in live environments.
• Experience supporting design reviews, commissioning and technical assurance.
• Ability to develop engineering standards and governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with risk-management approach.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Experience across multiple European markets is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical leadership on mechanical and cooling systems across the EMEA portfolio.
• Develop and maintain mechanical engineering standards and resilience strategies.
• Support modelling, performance analysis and validation of systems.
• Review design and commissioning documents to ensure compliance.
• Support commissioning, acceptance and handover for new facilities and upgrades.
• Define acceptance criteria, testing requirements and documentation standards.
• Serve as the Authorising Engineer for Mechanical Safety Rules.
• Support asset lifecycle planning and continuous improvement.
• Conduct technical assurance reviews and site audits.
• Provide escalation support during major incidents and root-cause analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve cooling performance and water use.
• Oversee vendors and service providers for consistency and quality.
• Coach and mentor engineers and operations staff.
