The role

At Zühlke, we support major players in the Swiss railway sector in bringing impactful digital solutions to life. As an experienced Java Fullstack Engineer, you will help us develop, operate, and maintain crucial applications in the web and enterprise environment, making a real difference for millions of people.
How you’ll make impact
Work closely with customers to understand their business and translate requirements into high-quality, reliable software. Expect to visit customers around two to three times per week.
Collaborate actively with your team, writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code using practices such as pair and mob programming.
Build long-term domain expertise through stable client engagements over multiple years.
Embrace a DevSecOps mindset, supporting the entire software lifecycle from ideation to production in a secure manner.
Grow and help others grow by incorporating feedback and supporting teammates in unlocking their potential.
Stay curious by keeping up with the latest technologies and trends and share your knowledge with the team to implement innovative approaches in your projects.
What’s important to us
A Bachelor’s degree (FH, Uni, ETH, or similar) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
At least two years (Senior: five years or more) of proven Java development experience with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and best practices.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with fluency in German and English (both at least C1).
A customer-first mindset with the ability to support project success using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular or React on the frontend. Knowledge of WebComponents is a plus.
Familiarity with technologies such as Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and RESTful APIs.
Experience with messaging frameworks, container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift), microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Experience working within agile development teams and familiarity with agile methodologies.
Experience in the public transport sector is a plus but not required.
