Zusammenfassung

Birgma International SA in Avry, Switzerland, is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and operation of our global IT infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

You will manage Azure and Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Citrix, VMware/Hyper-V, and SQL Server while driving automation, security by design, and reliability for critical services used by our retail and e-commerce platforms.

Qualifikationen

• 8–10 years of IT infrastructure experience, including 2–4 years in a senior role.
• Proven experience administering Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong experience managing Active Directory and hybrid identity environments.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Experience with Windows Server infrastructure, storage, backup and disaster recovery.
• SCCM / Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager experience.
• Certifications: AZ-305, MS-102, VMware or similar.
• Strong troubleshooting and security governance for hybrid/cloud environments.
• Fluent in English.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a global retail group headquartered in Avry, Switzerland, with core business operations across the Nordic region.

This role is responsible for implementing, and maintaining the organization's critical IT infrastructure across corporate, retail, and e-commerce environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and security of infrastructure services that support business operations and customer-facing platforms.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise across on-premises and cloud technologies with a strong understanding of modern infrastructure architecture and a strategic "secure by design" mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud and Microsoft 365 Administration
• Implement, administer, and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services based on business and operational requirements.
• Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive, ensuring performance, availability, security, and user experience.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID, including identity synchronization (Entra Connect), Conditional Access, access control policies, and hybrid identity integration.
• Configure and maintain user accounts, permissions, group policies, and access controls across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Monitor Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, proactively identifying and resolving performance, availability, and security issues.
• Troubleshoot issues related to authentication, email delivery, collaboration services, and identity access.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain secure configurations, identity protection, and access policies.

Virtualization, and VDI Infrastructure

• Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments, both on-premises and in Azure.
• Manage and maintain virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V, including hosts, virtual machines, and resource utilization.
• Ensure availability, performance, and reliability of virtual desktop and application delivery platforms.
• Monitor and maintain infrastructure health, resolving issues and optimizing performance.

On-Premises Infrastructure and Systems Administration

• Administer and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure.
• Manage Active Directory, including users, groups, Group Policy, replication, and hybrid identity integration with Entra ID.
• Administer storage platforms, backup systems, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure.
• Administer SCCM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) for patch management, endpoint configuration, and application deployment.
• Support and troubleshoot infrastructure connectivity in collaboration with networking teams.
• Participate in maintaining and improving on-premises infrastructure reliability and performance.

Automation, Monitoring, and Infrastructure Optimization

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
• Support infrastructure automation and configuration management initiatives.
• Monitor infrastructure systems, ensuring availability, reliability, and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues across cloud, virtualization, identity, and server platforms.
• Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and technical solutions.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance infrastructure stability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Support, Operations, and Collaboration

• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for infrastructure services and enterprise platforms.
• Support incident resolution, problem management, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, networking, and application teams to maintain and improve infrastructure services.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with infrastructure technologies, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience as an IT infrastructure engineer, including 2-4 years of experience as a senior IT infrastructure engineer.
• Proven experience administering Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong experience managing Active Directory and hybrid identity environments.
• Experience managing virtualization platforms such as VMware and/or Hyper-V.
• Experience administering Windows Server infrastructure.
• Experience managing storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
• Experience with SCCM / Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
• Microsoft certifications such as:
• Azure Solutions Architect Associate or Expert (AZ-305)
• Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102)
• VMware or virtualization certifications are a plus.
• Experience with Power Platform, automation tools, or DevOps practices is beneficial.
• Strong troubleshooting experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Experience managing security across hybrid and cloud environments
• Strong risk management and governance capabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent in English
