Job summary

SME Careers is seeking an experienced German Localization Specialist for an hourly, fully remote contractor role. You will review AI-generated responses, translate and localize content, and provide expert feedback to ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural nuance across German and English prompts.

You will apply MQM/LQA concepts, QA workflows, and CAT tools to assess quality, document findings, and contribute to high-quality AI training data.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in German Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or related field.
Native or near-native German proficiency and strong command of Germany locale conventions.
Minimum C1 English proficiency.
5+ years localization/translation experience.
Demonstrated MQM/LQA concept application for quality decisions.
Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows.
Excellent editorial judgment with attention to detail.
Ability to fact-check localized content using reliable sources.

Responsibilities

Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and responses to guide AI learning across topics.
Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses for accuracy, fluency, and context.
Ensure Model Integrity: Test models for inaccuracies or biases and validate reliability across use cases.
