Job summary

SME Careers is seeking experienced localization professionals for a fully remote, hourly contractor role focused on German-language content. You will review AI-generated responses, develop prompts, and provide feedback to ensure accuracy, clarity, and proper cultural nuance.

The role requires native or near-native German, strong English (C1) proficiency, and 5+ years in localization. You will apply MQM/LQA concepts, use CAT tools, and maintain strict quality standards across time zones.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in German Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or a related field.
Native or near-native German proficiency with Germany locale conventions.
Minimum C1 English proficiency for prompts, sources, and evaluation guidelines.
5+ years of professional localization/translation experience.
Demonstrated ability to apply MQM/LQA concepts to produce consistent quality decisions.
Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows.
Excellent editorial judgment with attention to detail.
Ability to fact-check localized content using reliable sources.
Comfort as hourly contractor across time zones.
Experience with AI data training / annotation / evaluation preferred.
Location: Germany-based candidates only.

Responsibilities

Develop AI training content: create prompts and responses across topics.
Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve accuracy, fluency, and context.
Test AI models for inaccuracies or biases and validate reliability across use cases.
