Jobgether in Switzerland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to blend Laravel backend development with modern frontend work using Next.js, React, and TypeScript. You will contribute to a large, production-grade web application and own features across the stack.

You will work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, optimize performance, and collaborate with DevOps to strengthen deployment workflows. This role offers growth toward technical leadership in a global, fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Laravel and PHP.
• Experience with Next.js, React.js, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL and database optimization.
• Knowledge of MongoDB and cross-database environments.
• REST API design, integration with third-party services.
• Docker experience; Linux server environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD, Git, and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features for a large-scale production web application.
• Work within an existing codebase and improve architecture.
• Build and optimize backend services and REST APIs using Laravel and PHP.
• Develop responsive frontend features with Next.js, React.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Migrate MongoDB components to PostgreSQL while maintaining data integrity.
• Optimize queries, database structures, and overall performance.
• Integrate external APIs, payment gateways, and ERP systems.
• Manage background jobs, queues, and scheduled tasks.
• Collaborate with DevOps to improve Docker-based infrastructure and CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable fixes.
• Improve scalability, security, and maintainability of applications.
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative culture.
