A leading company in the financial services sector is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee group reporting and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting and accounting, with experience in managing teams and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in improving internal controls and support various finance projects while leading a team in an international environment. Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills as a plus.
- Responsible for the group reporting process, meeting requirements in terms of both time and quality while avoiding audit deficiencies
- Responsible for costing as related to the local, Swiss made products
- Leads financial planning and analysis process, including annual budgeting and forecasting as week as cash flow planning
- Not only manage and oversee functions, but also able to perform detailed reviews, analyses, and reconciliations
- Responsible for themonthly/quarterly group reporting (sales/CoGS, reporting package, provision for current & deferred taxes, other deliverables) in collaboration and coordination with both the local and foreign STAAR finance teams, ensuring 10Q/10K reporting information due to Corporate office is prepared accurately and timely.
- Ensure proper valuation and reconciliation of inventory, product costing and related financial and reporting aspects, including collaboration with relevant local departments and US Cost Accounting group
- Lead cash flow planning, forecasting process
- Responsible for lease accounting, fixed assets and (capital) project controlling
- Manage FP&A for local entity as well as EMEA, APAC sales organizations and ensure collaboration with the US FP&A team
- Manage the preparation and filing of local statutory financial statements for STAAR Surgical AG as well as certain foreign entities, in collaboration with outside consultants
- Review critical workbooks, journal entries, and account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and relevancy
- Work with internal/external auditors, coordinate related activities internally
- Ensure process narratives / documentation are up to date and (key) controls are in place and functioning properly in accordance with SOX and Swiss law. Continually monitor and improve internal controls as necessary
- Support finance projects and ad-hoc requests
- Recruit, train, lead and develop Finance team members
Education: (Applied) University degree in Finance / Accounting,
certified expert in financial reporting and controlling,
CPA or equivalent
Special Knowledge: Expertise in US GAAP/IFRS and cost accounting
Proficiency in English; strong command of either French
or German is advantageous
Strong Excel skills
Experience with Oracle (ERP) is advantageous
Personality: Distinguished ability to work under pressure even in periods of heavy workload and high capacity
Excellent ability to communicate with peers, superiors
Excellent analytical, prioritization, decision-making and management skills, but yet able to review, focus on and perform detailed work to meet deadlines
Professional Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in a similar role with progressively
increasing responsibility and 3-5 years of supervisory
experience, ideally in an international and/or
manufacturing environment
