Job summary

Thales Alenia Space Switzerland is seeking a Senior Embedded Software and Processing Engineer to lead embedded processing solutions for advanced space products and testing equipment. You will work with system architects and hardware teams to implement robust architectures using MCUs, FPGAs and DSPs.

You will serve as the technical focal point for embedded software, coordinating development with external partners and ensuring quality, verification and adherence to ECSS standards where relevant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in electronics, information technology, computer engineering or related technical discipline.
• Proven experience developing embedded software or firmware with hardware teams.
• Strong understanding of embedded processing technologies (MCUs, FPGAs, DSPs).
• Experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments with excellent communication and collaboration.
• Structured, analytical approach to solving complex technical challenges.
• Experience coordinating activities or managing external development partners is a plus.
• Experience with space systems and ECSS or similar standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and dimensioning of embedded processing solutions for advanced space products and test equipment.
• Collaborate with system architects and electronics engineers to craft robust processing architectures (MCUs, FPGAs, DSPs).
• Act as technical focal point for embedded software, supporting specification, development and verification across teams.
• Coordinate software work packages delivered by external partners with quality and alignment.
• Support integration, commissioning, testing and automated verification strategies for embedded systems.
• Promote robust software configuration management and engineering best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes.
