Zusammenfassung

Flyability, Lausanne-based leader in indoor inspection drones, is seeking a Sensor Validation & Calibration Engineer to own sensor testing from prototype to production. You will work on cameras, lidars, IMUs and GNSS, designing calibration benches and repeatable test setups.

This hands-on role requires 5+ years in sensor test, metrology, data analysis, and Python proficiency, with experience in environmental and vibration testing. English required; French a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years in sensor test, calibration, metrology or system validation; at least one bench delivered into production.
• Experience designing test setups and fixtures for electromechanical systems and environmental testing.
• Proficient in Python for data acquisition, analysis and test automation; some Rust is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Designing, building and qualifying the calibration benches used in production for cameras, IMUs and lidars.
• Defining and running the test plans that validate sensors on the drone: characterization, environmental tests (temperature, shock, vibration), flight-test data analysis.
• Owning calibration procedures and their acceptance criteria: intrinsic, extrinsic, IMU and camera-IMU, with uncertainty estimation.
• Being the team's reference on inertial sensors: IMU selection and error modeling, vibration isolation and mounting with the mechanical team.
• Integrating sensors mechanically with the mechanical team: mounting, alignment, thermal behavior, sealing, field of view.
• Transferring calibration and end-of-line tests to manufacturing, and analyzing production data to keep them under control.
