Semtech is seeking a Staff Digital Design Engineer to lead digital subsystems in complex mixed-signal ICs, from concept to lab validation, in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

You will define digital architectures, implement high-performance, low-power designs, and work cross-functionally to ensure production readiness and robust product development.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years of digital IC design experience.
• Strong knowledge of frontend-to-backend flow, timing closure, and low-power design.
• Experience with MCU-based architectures (ARM, RISC-V, STM32) and digital microarchitecture.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL; scripting in Python, Tcl, or Perl.
• Experience with industry-standard EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens).
• Understanding of verification methodologies (UVM/OVM, formal verification).
• Familiarity with interfaces (I2C, I3C, SPI, MIPI).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Aufgaben

• Design and implement digital subsystems, including CPU-based architectures, FSMs, interconnects, and peripherals.
• Define and architect digital system blocks, contributing to system-level design decisions and trade-offs.
• Collaborate with analog design teams to define interfaces and ensure seamless mixed-signal integration.
• Debug and analyse RTL and verification issues, identifying root causes and driving resolution.
• Support block-level and chip-level verification activities in collaboration with verification teams.
• Contribute to lab validation, product qualification, and cross-functional engineering efforts with Validation, Test, and Product teams.
• Drive continuous improvement of design methodologies, tools, and overall design quality.
