Job summary

Forfirm seeks an experienced Middle DevOps Engineer to join its international team. You will work on large UNIX environments, manage middleware, and automate infrastructure with Ansible and Terraform.

The role requires autonomous work, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and strong scripting in Bash and Python. On-site work in Ticino, with opportunities to influence complex projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience engineering and administering large-scale UNIX environments (AIX 7 a plus).
• 5+ years Linux administration (RHEL and Debian).
• Strong Bash and Python scripting skills.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Ansible and Terraform.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting.
• Power7/8 hardware experience a plus.
• Solid understanding of development languages and app design.
• Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer IBM WebSphere, Open Liberty, and middleware across dev, test, production.
• Support packaging, deployment, and ongoing ops across environments.
• Design and maintain web app infrastructure using Java, .NET, or Python.
