About the team you are joining

Part of the Information and Data (I&D) Division, Data Governance team works to define and implement state-of-the-art data practices within our organization to make data and analytics more accessible, trustworthy, and actionable. Our goal is to maximizes the investment in data and analytics initiatives by promoting the proper use of analytics in business processes, ensuring accurate insights based on quality data, reducing risks with security, and guiding the prioritization of projects so the right information is available at the right time.

Reporting to the Head of Data Governance and Framework, you will help drive the successful rebuild of one of IATA’s most critical enterprise reporting solutions. In this role, you’ll focus on improving the quality, consistency, and integrity of the datasets that underpin industry analysis and statistical products. This includes profiling source data, building automated quality controls, and acting as a steward for enterprise reference data.

What your day would be like

- Design and implement automated data quality pipelines, including rule-based checks, anomaly detection, and monitoring logic.
- Profile and assess large datasets to identify integrity issues such as duplicates, null values, outliers, schema mismatches, or logic inconsistencies.
- Define, document, and maintain business rules and technical validations for critical data domains, in close collaboration with stakeholders.
- Act as a data steward for enterprise reference data, ensuring definitions, hierarchies, mappings, and domains are aligned and governed.
- Maintain and improve dashboards and reports that visualize data quality KPIs and surface exceptions to business owners.
- Contribute to the enterprise Data Catalog by ensuring that metadata, data lineage, and quality scoring are kept up to date and transparent.
- Drive root cause analysis of quality issues and collaborate across teams to implement sustainable fixes at the source or process level.


We would love to hear from you if

- Postgraduate degree in data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data quality, data engineering, or data governance roles, ideally within complex data ecosystems.
- Ability to apply statistical methods to industry-specific problems, such as aviation safety, economic forecasting, or operational performance
- Solid hands-on experience with data querying and transformation using SQL, R and Python.
- Experience in data profiling, validation, cleansing, definition of business rules definition and conformance metrics
- Experience working with Snowflake, cloud-based data platforms, or modern data stacks.
- Fluency in English; other languages are a plus in IATA's international context.
