Databricks is seeking a Sr Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers, owning architecture and end-to-end solutions across data engineering, AI, and application development on the Databricks platform.

This hands-on, client-facing role blends engineering excellence with business impact, requiring travel up to 20% and collaboration with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps and AI/ML model deployment.
• Ability to design production end-to-end data architectures integrating data pipelines and AI models.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel ~20%.

Aufgaben

• Lead production-grade customer projects by delivering reference architectures and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications across customer environments.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to ensure adoption of Databricks technology.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security, scalability, and alignment with customer needs and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, project managers, and customer teams to guarantee delivery meets requirements.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to accelerate issue resolution with support teams.
• Embed with customer teams across stakeholders to deeply understand challenges and drive impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
