Mercury GmbH in Zürich is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to plan and oversee all site logistics for complex construction projects. You will coordinate supplier deliveries, traffic management, and site safety in collaboration with the project team.

The role requires travel, a construction operations background, and proficiency with SAP. You will manage sub-contractors, budgets, and plant/equipment, ensuring on-time, cost-effective delivery while maintaining records in the on-site system.

Competenze

• Progressive experience ensuring on-time delivery of cost-effective, quality goods.
• Experience in Construction Operations.
• Degree or tertiary qualification in related field or equivalent work experience.
• Willing to travel for the position.
• Knowledge of international procurement, logistics, and industry practices.
• Creative thinking, problem identification and resolution.
• Project planning and implementation.
• Experience with SAP software system.

Mansioni

• Plan and manage all Project Logistics from supplier to on-site delivery.
• Track site deliveries against schedule using Procurement Schedule Report.
• Coordinate site logistics and traffic routes for deliveries.
• Hold weekly stakeholder meetings to review campus access.
• Engage with designers to ensure roads meet specs.
• Oversee site safety with Mercury Project Team and site vehicles.
• Organise storage and distribution of materials on site.
• Negotiate with suppliers and Sub-contractors for equipment.
• Maintain plant log including hire dates and repairs using on-site system.
• Manage site operation scheduling and deliveries.
• Implement ticketing system for site deliveries.
• Ensure site security responsibilities are understood.
• Manage Sub-contractors ensuring traffic management plans.
• Direct Sub-contractors day-to-day on site logistics.
• Control costs for Plant/equipment, off-hire when not used.
• Manage Site Set Up budgets with QS including: Site Accommodation, Plant and Equipment hire, Storage facilities, Security and Compound Management staff.
• Supervise, coach and train site staff.
• Develop solutions with partners to meet requirements.
• Create clear project objectives and manage cost, time, quality.
