Job summary

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, seeks an Electrical Construction Manager in Zurich, Switzerland. You will lead electrical on-site activities for complex projects, coordinating with Elec Lead/PM, QA, and safety teams to meet project specs and schedules.

You will manage costs, sub-contractors, and schedules while driving quality and safety. The role requires 10–15+ years in construction and a strong engineering background with design/build experience.

Qualifications

• Overall 10-15+ years experience in the construction sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electrical, construction management, or other relevant degree.
• Minimum 5 years previous experience in Project Management.
• Proven record of coordinating and managing large installation projects.
• Experience dealing with Industrial Relations issues.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Experienced in design and build.
• Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Management of the Electrical Systems package site in conjunction with the Elec Lead/PM and to Lead the construction activities on site.
• Management of all the Electrical construction activities on site in conjunction with the Elec Lead/PM.
• Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the Project manager, Mercury Safety Advisor.
• Management of electrical design process in conjunction with the Design Manager.
• Management of the OFCI electrical equipment and packages.
• Drive a focused Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental culture within your team.
• Management of Site QA in conjunction with Mercury QA Manager including set up, management and close out of file
• Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Mercury Project manager, consulting Engineer and Client requirements
• Management of all costs associated with your package including Mercury Electrical Team, Sub-contractors, Material deliveries and goods receipting, Plant and Equipment, Variations, Valuations
• Management of all day-to-day site operations
• Ensure Mercury Policies and procedures are followed closely
• Ensure Works are installed in accordance with Project specifications and to the Project QA plan
• Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels
• Management of the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system ensuring weekly punch lists
• Issue direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to time administrator
• Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings
• Close out of all project items including Final Account, O&M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant relocations, Project Plan
• Issue weekly cost reports and external weekly progress reports
• Schedule material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule. Track deliveries.
• Support and coach electrical team development
• Preparing Sub-contract and Supplier Tender Packages in conjunction with Project QS
• Maintain a weekly project photographic diary
• All other duties associated with the role.
