Job summary

SBM Offshore in Switzerland is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to coordinate all onsite construction activities, ensuring HSSE, quality and schedule requirements are met. The role requires at least eight years of construction experience in complex environments, a strong problem-solving mindset, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all construction activities onsite and ensure HSSE, quality and schedule compliance.
• Conduct constructability reviews and provide input to Engineering.
• Oversee technical evaluations, risk assessments and feasibility studies.
• Provide guidance on construction techniques to the site team.
• Address operational challenges and implement improvements to reduce non-productive time.
• Coordinate interfaces between disciplines to meet the schedule.
• Mentor project construction team and foster continuous improvement.

Purpose

• The Senior Construction Engineer is responsible for coordinating all construction activities in project / onsite , facilitating effective communucation between various stakeholders, ensuring they are carried out in compliance with the project HSSE, Quality and schedule requirements.
• You oversee and coordinate all technical and administrative construction activities, ensuring the project objectives are met efficiently and within budget and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Your responsibilities include conducting the constructability review and provide input to Engineering.
• You conduct and oversee advanced technical evaluations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to guide project decision-making.
• You provide guidance and advanced technical expertise on construction techniques to the project / site team, ensuring best practices are followed.
• You address operational challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve construction performance and reduce non-productive time.
• You coordinate the interface and priorities between disciplines to solve construction issues, follow up on the construction status and progress to meet the schedule.
• You conduct and oversee advanced technical evaluations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to guide project decision-making.
• You provide guidance and mentorship to the project construction team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Education

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field with strong knowledge of construction principles and processess, and HSSE regulations

Experience

• At least 8 years extensive experience in construction with proven track record of successful project delivery in complex environments, combined with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
