Job summary

Try&Hire is seeking a senior data science leader to architect enterprise AI analysis platforms and data products for drug discovery. You will translate scientific needs into decision-ready solutions, design scalable omics pipelines and APIs, and guide multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor scientists and engineers, drive FAIR data practices, and present results through technical documentation and stakeholder presentations. Hybrid Basel-based role with potential permanent placement.

Qualifications

• PhD in AI/ML or related field or equivalent experience.
• MS degree with 5+ years post-graduate experience considered.
• 3+ years hands-on scientific data science/AI/ML in biopharma or tech.
• Experience building production-grade multimodal data platforms.
• Experience with Python, SQL, version control, testing and cloud platforms.
• Experience leading cross-functional science or engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate scientific and operational AI needs into decision-enabling solutions.
• Design, build and sustain scalable AI-focused omics pipelines, APIs and data products.
• Scale AI workflows using reproducible, transparent, secure and FAIR data practices.
• Prioritize resources against evolving research needs.
• Establish project evaluation, deployment, lifecycle and governance practices.
• Mentor and coach data scientists, engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Communicate strategy and results through presentations and technical documentation.
