Job summary

Roche in Basel is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in AI Enablement to lead architecture and delivery of systems that unlock scientific data across complex workstreams. You will own end-to-end technical execution, setting architectural standards to turn AI into a high-impact utility for researchers.

You will partner with computational sciences, product leaders, and engineering to drive strategy and own critical AI/ML products, combining rigor with proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Masters degree with 5+ years of experience or PhD with 3+ years in CS, with track record of driving complex workstreams and establishing architectural best practices

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design, architecture, and hands-on implementation of agentic AI solutions and scalable data pipelines
• Drive end-to-end delivery of high-impact AI/ML products and workstreams with best practices (testing, CI/CD, documentation)
• Shape foundational architecture decisions and champion best practices through code reviews
• Be willing to span the stack and contribute where needed, even outside core area
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and cultivate a culture of continuous learning and collaboration
