Fortil, a global engineering and technology consulting group, seeks a Senior AI Engineer to lead AI-driven transformations in Vaud, Switzerland. You will architect, develop and deploy AI solutions, including LLMs, RAG and AI agents, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes producing production-ready AI capabilities, safeguarding security and data protection, and driving responsible AI governance across enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional AI/ML or software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Proven experience with LLMs and RAG architectures.
• Experience developing AI Agents and integrating AI into enterprise environments.
• Excellent English communication and ability to work autonomously.

Responsabilités

• Identify opportunities to leverage AI technologies across engineering and business processes.
• Design, develop and deploy AI-powered applications and services.
• Implement solutions based on LLMs.
• Design and develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Develop AI Agents and intelligent automation solutions.
• Build proof-of-concepts and transform them into production-ready solutions.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing software ecosystems and engineering tools.
• Develop interfaces with enterprise systems, databases and knowledge repositories.
• Define AI solution architectures aligned with business and technical objectives.
• Evaluate and select relevant AI technologies and frameworks.
• Support software engineering teams in adopting AI best practices.
• Establish validation and performance assessment methodologies for AI solutions.
• Ensure cybersecurity, confidentiality and data protection constraints are respected.
• Contribute to the definition of AI governance and responsible AI practices.
• Monitor technological trends and assess their applicability to engineering activities.
• Collaborate with software, systems and business stakeholders.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of AI solutions in operational environments.
• Act as a technical reference for AI-related topics.
