Zusammenfassung

Viking River Cruises AG in Basel, Switzerland, is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support compliance efforts. The role reports to the Senior Manager Accounting and covers a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover starting Oct 2026.

You will manage general ledger, month-end close, reporting, variances, internal controls, audits, and cross-functional cost analyses while driving process improvements and ERP enhancements.

Qualifikationen

• Strong understanding of accounting theory with IFRS preferred.
• 4+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA/ACCA preferred.
• Experience in audits or SOX compliance a bonus.
• Excellent English skills, spoken and written.
• Detail-oriented and well organized.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excel proficiency required.

Aufgaben

• Oversee general ledger activities and month-/year-end close processes.
• Prepare reports, memos and schedules per monthly close calendar.
• Analyze financial results and report variances vs budget/forecast.
• Maintain and verify accuracy of the general ledger.
• Research accounting issues and write memos on treatments.
• Assist in internal controls documentation and process improvements.
• Coordinate with internal and external audit teams for SOX walkthroughs.
• Assist with quarterly reports and ERP data clean-up.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on cost and profitability analyses.
• Support UAT and future ERP/reporting system developments.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance.
