Job summary

Expeditors in the Zurich region is seeking a motivated and experienced Manager in the Seafreight sector. The role focuses on leading the Ocean Freight department, maintaining key accounts, and ensuring compliant, profitable operations from the Kloten office.

You will develop the department organization, monitor business plans, and collaborate with vendors to optimize performance. Immediate start or by mutual agreement, with opportunities for professional development within a global network and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in the Ocean Freight department of a freight forwarder.
• Ability to define, develop and document business processes and procedures.
• Effective interpersonal skills; ability to relate to customers and employees at all levels.
• Professional oral and written communication skills in English and native language.
• German fluency is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop a positive relationship with assigned accounts through pro-active communication and providing timely and accurate information
• Create and maintain an effective department organization
• Prepare, execute, monitor and update at regular intervals the business plan for the department
• Be responsible for compliance and quality issues for the ocean product
• Ensure that productivity and profitability goals for ocean department are met
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors
• Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations
• Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department
