We are looking for a passionate and proficient scientist with expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join our research center in Baden/Switzerland. In an interdisciplinary environment, you will drive cutting-edge innovation for different complex systems in power grid applications. How you’ll make an impact:

  • You are creative: Conduct high-quality industrial research in the area of artificial intelligence for sustainable power grids, green energy, and related fields.

  • You are visionary: Develop innovative approaches to design and run the power grid, turn them into prototypes, and increase the technology readiness level towards productization.

  • You take initiative: Collaborate with a global and inter-disciplinary team of researchers and engineers in Hitachi Energy Research and Business Units to identify and solve real-world problems and realize opportunities for further improvements.

  • You collaborate: Build relationships within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise. Interact with local and global external partners including universities and vendors.

  • You communicate: Disseminate your results in technical reports, patent applications, and scientific publications.

Your background:

  • PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.

  • Proven expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a solid understanding of algorithms, frameworks, and extensive experience in Python and relevant software tools.

  • Strong ability and keen interest in applying AI/ML to real-world industrial applications, addressing various aspects of power grids and sustainable energy, from systems to individual components.

  • Excellent communication skills, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity.

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
