Job summary

Northwest Eye Surgeons, Inc. is seeking an Billing/Coding Specialist to answer patient calls, manage denials, and handle AR reporting within benchmarks. The role requires understanding ICD-10/CPT coding and collaboration across teams.

You will review coding, research denials, and ensure timely follow-up on all accounts, while communicating guidelines to clients and staff and striving to meet AR targets.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Knowledge of current third-party billing regulatory guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to gather and interpret clinical data.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial charge review to determine ICD-10 and CPT codes for reporting physician services to third-party payers.
• Review and research insurance denials from remittances, correspondence, or Clearinghouse rejections in a timely manner.
• Provide timely follow-up on all outstanding AR using the practice management worklist reports and payer portals.
• Ensure timely communication of denials or trends requiring the practice's knowledge and actions.
• Work collaboratively with RMC team members and offices to ensure account accuracy and issue resolutions.
• Effectively communicate payer billing guidelines to clients and staff in a timely manner.
• Consistently meet or exceed client AR objectives in aging categories (30,60,90+).
• Performs other related duties as required.
