Zusammenfassung

The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) invites applications for a Research Software Engineer to advance mass spectrometry data analysis, develop pipelines, and support omics research in collaboration with ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich.

You will join the bioinformatics group, work on data management and reproducibility, and help translate researchers’ needs into scalable software to support HPC and open‑source tooling within our data platform.

Qualifikationen

• Academic degree in relevant areas, including computer science, statistics, or biology.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field; Ph.D. candidates are welcome to apply.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux with command-line interfaces.
• Practical knowledge of at least one programming language and Git.
• Responsible and informed use of AI-assisted tools in a scientific context.
• Familiarity with omics data, bioinformatics, and mass spectrometry is advantageous.
• Experience with HPC workflows and data analysis pipelines is preferred.

• Maintain existing and develop new mass spectrometry data processing pipelines.
• Apply informatics and data science to ensure reproducibility of analyses.
• Support collaborators with data interpretation and bioinformatics projects in a team setting.
