Research Scientist (Tenure Track)

The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. For the Muon Physics Group of the Laboratory for Particle Physics we are looking for a

Your tasks

• Contribution to one or more of the particle physics experiments at PSI (in particular, PIONEER or another experiment)
• Support and further development of the MIDAS data acquisition system in collaboration with the MIDAS community including TRIUMF, Canada. Support of PSI experiments using MIDAS
• Area coordination in the PiE5 area including support of the experiments in this area

Your profile

• PhD in experimental nuclear or particle physics
• Extended experience in the design, assembly, operation and analysis of experiments
• Good programming skills in C++ and JavaScript
• Good knowledge of English
• Good knowledge of German or willingness to quickly learn the language
• Competence in training and mentoring young scientists
• Enjoy working in a team-oriented interdisciplinary environment
