Qualifikationen

• MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong background in Computer Architecture and Micro-architecture.
• Creativity and the ability to think outside the box to develop innovative technologies.
• Research experience in Computer Architecture/Micro-architecture, Vector/Matrix Extensions, GPU programming or profiling.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and system-level thinking skills.
• Strong development and prototyping skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

Aufgaben

• Research the next generation of Neural Processing Units (NPUs) core micro-architecture and CPU designs for agentic AI.
• Prototype new architectural features for NPUs, including frontend, backend, and memory systems.
• Explore NPU core micro-architecture details (branch prediction, BTB, prefetchers, register files, functional units).
• Investigate NPU backend and memory systems with TLBs, L1 caches, and scratchpads.
• Design CPUs for agentic AI including tool calling and context management.
• Develop resilience for bursty compute and rapid context switching beyond 2-way SMT.
• Publish research papers at top-tier venues (ASPLOS, ISCA, MICRO, HPCA).
• Collaborate with academic institutions and mentor junior researchers and interns.
