Job summary

DuckDuckGo, a remote-first privacy company, is seeking a Social Media and Communications Manager to shape how millions hear about its products and mission. You’ll lead copy, manage communities, coordinate announcements, and handle press inquiries across platforms, reporting outcomes and driving strategic initiatives.

You will be the DRI on projects, collaborating with product, design, legal, support, and leadership to deliver high-impact campaigns and measurable results.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in communications, including PR and social media.
• Excellent writing skills with ability to explain products clearly.
• Hands-on social media experience across multiple platforms.
• Media relations experience, including pitching journalists and building press relationships.
• Experience measuring social media and earned media reach, engagement, sentiment, and campaign impact.
• Fluency in online culture with good judgment about participation.
• Ability to run multiple campaigns, content calendars, and approval cycles with cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to manage projects from kickoff through delivery.

Responsibilities

• Write social media copy and manage social media mentions and communities.
• Coordinate proactive announcements and manage incoming press requests.
• Regularly report on key performance metrics and related projects.
• Serve as the direct responsible individual (DRI) on projects from scoping to postmortem.
• Collaborate with product, design, legal, support, and leadership on campaigns.
