Zusammenfassung

Jobgether is seeking an experienced Software Engineer, Flights in Europe to scale a live flight technology product. You will join a small team to design and build high-performance backend services, APIs, and caching strategies supporting flight search, booking and post-booking workflows.

Ownership of architectural decisions and strong collaboration across teams are expected. The role requires deep backend/API expertise, NDC experience, and hands-on coding in Python (or equivalent OO language).

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with backend/API focus.
• Experience in flight travel domain (OTA, airline, GDS, or flight booking).
• Strong understanding of end-to-end flight booking lifecycle (search, booking, post-booking).
• Hands-on experience with NDC.
• Python production experience; other OO languages acceptable (Java, Go, Kotlin).
• Strong API design skills for scalable, reliable services.
• Experience with distributed systems, caching, high-volume backends.
• Hands-on contributor mindset with technical ownership and limited process.

Aufgaben

• Scale and evolve flight product into reliable, flexible infrastructure for partners.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for search, booking, post-booking.
• Make key technical decisions on API architecture, caching, data models and performance.
• Develop efficient caching approaches for flight offers with price accuracy and availability.
• Build and improve booking servicing workflows, handling changes, cancellations, refunds.
• Support NDC and airline retailing standards, integrate with GDS workflows.
• Design scalable APIs for partners (fintechs, travel platforms, super-apps).
• Collaborate with a small team, own technical solutions and ship to production.
• Enhance performance, scalability and resilience of high-traffic systems.
