Jobgether is seeking an experienced Back-end Engineer (Java/Kotlin) for a Switzerland-based, mostly remote role. You will own significant engineering projects, shape software architecture, and build reliable distributed services and APIs on the JVM stack.

Collaborating with product managers and cross-functional teams, you will deliver high-quality software with strong performance, availability, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and practical experience building backend applications with JVM technologies.
• Experience with other JVM languages, such as Java, Groovy, or Scala, is an advantage.
• Proven experience designing scalable software systems, ideally within a successful SaaS product environment.
• Good understanding of containerization, microservices, event-driven architectures, cloud computing, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Hibernate, JUnit, AWS SES/Lambda, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Docker, and OpenAPI.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
• Additional experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, SQS, SNS) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Terraform is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and approach technical challenges with creativity and initiative.
• Strong collaboration skills in a diverse, remote team and excellent written English.

Responsabilités

• Lead and contribute to impactful engineering projects involving SaaS solutions and their ongoing improvement.
• Participate in designing, evolving, and improving software architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Design, implement, and maintain distributed services, backend systems, and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with engineers across teams, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions.
• Write clean, scalable code and maintain a robust codebase with automated tests.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive automated test coverage to ensure software quality.
• Improve platform availability and maintainability through architectural enhancements and tech evolution.
• Participate in code reviews, refactoring, and improvements to CI/CD processes.
• Apply agile practices and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
