Qualifikationen

To support the continued development of our Commodity Trade Finance activities, we are looking for a motivated and commercially minded mid-level Relationship Manager to join our Geneva team.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of Commodity Trade Finance clients, with a primary focus on Soft Commodities traders, within the frame of the strategy set up by the Management and under the directions given by the immediate supervisor and the Department Head.

The main duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Manage and develop a portfolio of Commodity Trade Finance clients active in the soft commodities sector.
• Together with his/her immediate supervisor, identify, originate and execute new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
• Analyse and structure trade finance facilities, ensuring alignment with the Bank's risk appetite and profitability targets.
• Prepare and present credit applications, annual reviews and amendment requests to the relevant approval authorities.
• Monitor on a regular basis the quality, profitability and risk profile of the assigned portfolio as part of the first line of defense responsibility.
• Analyse financial statements, management accounts, borrowing base reports and other risk relevant information.
• Coordinate transaction execution and client onboarding with internal stakeholders including Credit Risk, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Financial Institutions.
• Promote cross-selling opportunities across the Bank's product offering.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University/Master Degree in Economics or qualification considered equivalent.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Commodity Trade Finance, with at least 2–3 years in a client-facing RM or Associate RM capacity.
• Fluency in English and French; other language being an asset.
• Strong technical knowledge in Commodity Trade Finance activities.
• Prior exposure to soft commodities sector would be a strong advantage.
• Good knowledge of banking products in general.
• Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and transaction structuring.
