Job summary

Wyss&Lila GmbH in Switzerland seeks a detail-oriented Technical Writer to create, edit, and maintain documentation supporting railway operations, engineering, maintenance, safety, and compliance. Translate complex information for technical and non-technical audiences.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, maintenance teams, and safety specialists to gather information, ensure standards compliance, and deliver documents on time for projects and tenders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, English, Transportation, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in railway/transportation/industrial sectors.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Proficiency with document management and authoring tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Schema ST4.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical manuals, operating procedures, maintenance guides, and training materials for railway systems and equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, maintenance teams, and safety specialists to gather technical information.
• Ensure all documentation complies with railway industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Review and revise existing documentation for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
• Manage document version control and publication processes.
• Support audits, inspections, and certification activities through accurate recordkeeping and documentation.
• Create diagrams, workflows, and visual aids to enhance technical content.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of documentation for projects and tenders.
