Job summary

ABB in Quartino, Switzerland, is seeking an R&D Senior Engineer to validate and customize 1-ph and 3-ph low-voltage UPS systems, batteries and accessories for mission-critical applications.

You will lead testing with partners (UL, Intertek, Dekra, Eurofins), manage specifications, drive RCA, and collaborate with the Swiss research center to explore new UPS technologies; fluent English required; hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with power electronic systems.
• Familiar with IEC and UL standards and lab testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical validation and customization of 1ph and 3ph UPS systems and batteries.
• Manage test partners to scope and plan test programs for IEC/UL compliance.
• Manage product specifications and support the business case with the Product Manager.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions during qualification testing and at customer sites.
• Collaborate with the Swiss research center to identify new UPS technologies.
