Job summary

Try&Hire in Ecublens, Switzerland, is seeking a Quality Engineer to embed quality engineering into the development and manufacturing of integrated photonics platforms. You will bridge prototype operations and scalable production, defining gates, test plans and reliability criteria for new platforms.

The role requires 3–5+ years in quality engineering within semiconductors or photonics, strong root-cause and CAPA skills, ISO 9001 experience, and fluency in English with French as a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related technical field (Bachelor or Master).
• 3–5+ years of hands-on quality engineering in semiconductors, MEMS, microelectronics or photonics.
• Strong root-cause analysis and CAPA management experience.
• Experience maintaining ISO 9001 QMS and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Six Sigma Green Belt is a strong plus.
• Fluency in English; French is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Define quality gates, qualification test plans and reliability criteria for new photonics platforms.
• Conduct risk assessments including Design and Process FMEAs for technical changes.
• Optimize manufacturing processes, cycle times, yield and quality metrics with production teams.
• Lead non-conformance management and root-cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why and Fishbone methods.
• Establish Statistical Process Control frameworks and control plans at critical production stages.
• Maintain QMS procedures per ISO 9001 and conduct internal and supplier audits.
• Embed Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement frameworks and report quality KPIs to leadership.

What you bring

• Practical experience with ISO 9001 QMS maintenance and continuous improvement frameworks
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a strong plus
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in French is a strong advantage
