Project Student Role: Responsible for transferring telemetric data into our cloud, including developing a sustainable, flexible data structure for future devices. The role also involves implementing a proof of concept for reading data from devices like a z-drive and transferring it to the cloud. This software will run on a Windows PC.

This position reports to the Senior Manager Systems Engineering and is part of the Applied R&D Team in Heerbrugg. It is an on-site, temporary role until August 2025, aligned with a Master’s study program.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop a data concept based on state-of-the-art data science knowledge
  • Combine scientific data knowledge with real industrial devices and applications
  • Create a functional proof of concept for telemetric data transfer to the cloud

Minimum requirements include:

  • Designing a sustainable, extendable data structure for telemetric data, understanding Leica Microsystems devices and firmware
  • Creating a proof of concept demo software for Windows
