Job summary

Bertrams Chemieanlagen AG in Muttenz near Basel seeks a Project Manager for international plant engineering. You will lead projects from basic design to handover, coordinating technical and commercial aspects and acting as the primary contact for customers.

We expect a graduate engineer with several years of PM experience in plant engineering, fluency in English, and enthusiasm for working in an international environment. Occasional travel up to 10% is required.

• Supervision of construction and pipework planning.
• Coordinate construction site activities with site managers; travel up to 10%.

Project Manager for international projects

As a project manager in international plant engineering, you will manage projects from basic design through to acceptance and handover of the plant to the customer and will be responsible for all technical and commercial matters. You are enthusiastic about the combination of technology and project management. You find it exciting to accompany a project from start to finish and to be the contact person for all matters, both internally and vis‑à‑vis the customer.

Main tasks

• Clarification with internal departments (design, process development, sales, control technology, logistics, purchasing, etc.), suppliers (for detailed technical clarification) and customers
• Responsibility for deadlines and budget (throughout the entire project)
• Organising internal and external status meetings
• Design and specification of instrumentation
• Creating specifications for technical equipment
• Supervision of construction and pipework planning, which is created by external partners
• Coordination of construction site activities in the head office with site managers on siteOccasional travelling to our international customers (max. 10% of working time)

Your profile

• You are a graduate engineer (technical college/university) in process engineering or mechanical engineering (or have an equivalent qualification).
• You have several years of experience as a project manager in plant engineering.
• You enjoy working in an international environment with different cultures.
• You can express yourself fluently in English (written/orally).
• You enjoy carrying out technical work yourself and can also deal with routine tasks.
• You enjoy making decisions and can represent and enforce them appropriately.
