The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks a seasoned project leader at the Industry Innovation Branch in the Nairobi Duty Station. The incumbent will establish the Nature Team's structure and lead strategic delivery, while coordinating with admin and communications to align with UN rules and deadlines.

• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics combined with one of the following: environment, sustainable development or a related field.
• A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) with two (2) additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
• A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, nature, environment, sustainable development or related area is required.
• Experiences in connecting financial work with environmental and social considerations are desirable.
• Skills in developing work programs for a variety of private or public stakeholders are desirable.
• A minimum of two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required.

The overall objective of UNEP's Industry and Economy Division is to support decision makers in government and engage with industry and the finance sector to use strong scientific evidence to develop and adopt policies, strategies and practices and technologies that promote sustainable patterns of consumption and production including circular economy, make efficient use of natural resources, ensure safe management of chemicals and contribute to making industry and environment policies mutually supportive. • Establish and evolve the Nature Team's structure for effective delivery of strategy and work plans to contribute to institutional level and systems change.
• Develop an agile process to ensure ongoing learning and innovation.
• Manage the Nature budget and nature-specific resources in line with UNEP FI budget, admin and planning processes.

Support science-based nature-related policy and regulatory engagement to align public and private finance with goals under Multilateral Environmental Agreements including the CBD GBF.

Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.

Requirements
